Join us to learn how to download, create, and edit 3D designs for printing on the library's 3D printer. We'll cover how to use the library's 3D printing service, what you can make with a 3D printer, how to download completed 3D projects online, and how to use tinkercad.com to create and edit your own 3D designs. Each participant will get one small 3D design printed for free.
Requirements:
Register - online or by calling the library at 614-873-4912 ext. 130
Bring Your Own Laptop - In order to serve as many patrons as possible, some will need to bring their own laptops. The library has a few patron laptops that will be available, but attendees with personal laptops are encouraged to bring their own devices. We'll be using online software over the library's wifi, so wifi capability is required for personal devices. If you do not have a personal laptop that you can bring, please indicate this at the time of registration so that library staff can plan accordingly. Tablets without mice or keyboards are not ideal for the software that we will be using. Please contact the library at 614-873-4912 ext. 130 with questions regarding hardware requirements.
Sign up for tinkercad.com - We will be using the free, online software at tinkercad.com to import, create, and edit your 3D designs. Attendees will need to create their own account on tinkercad.com prior to the event and be knowledgeable of their username and password at the time of the event. For help with this process, stop by the library during open hours, and a staff member will be available to help you set up your Tinkercad account.
