This pet portrait class, taught by artist Becky Gehrisch, will focus on rendering students' furry friend in soft pastels. They will learn how to layout their pet proportions, how to show lighting, fur direction, and color choices. This is a great introduction to animal portraiture! Bring a photo of your favorite pet and bring them to life through art!
This class is for adults and teens ages 12 and up. Registration is required.
About the Artist
Becky Gehrisch grew up drawing dogs and farm scenes after visiting her grandparents’ homes in the country. It’s no wonder that she went on to create her debut picture book, Escape to Play, after earning an art degree from The Ohio State University.
Between picture book projects, she works as a portrait artist and manages her new publishing company, Bookling Media LLC. When she is not creating art, she speaks at schools, bookstores, and other venues and is an approved Ohio Instructor through the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA).
