The Plain City Public Library and 11 other Central Ohio libraries will present an Evening with Rick Steves on Thursday, February 20.

Join popular travel writer and public television host Rick Steves as he recalls adventures from his new book ON THE HIPPIE TRAIL: Istanbul to Kathmandu and the Making of a Travel Writer, which features curated and transcribed journal entries and stunning photographs chronicling his 1978 journey on the famed Hippie Trail, a 3,000-mile trek from Istanbul to Kathmandu.

Rick Steves, America's most respected authority on European travel, empowers Americans to have European trips that are fun, affordable, and culturally broadening. In 1976, he started his business, Rick Steves' Europe, headquartered in Edmonds, Washington, near Seattle. There he produces a best-selling guidebook series, a popular public television show, a weekly public radio show, a syndicated travel column, and free travel information available through his travel center and ricksteves.com. Rick Steves' Europe also runs a successful small-group tour program taking 30,000 travelers to Europe annually.

Tickets for the event go on sale via ticketmaster.com on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 am.
Purchase a discounted book with your ticket, pick it up at the event, and get an opportunity to have it signed by Rick Steves after the event. You can also purchase books from Beanbag Books at the event for a signing opportunity.
Ticket prices range from $15-$50 plus applicable fees.

ABOUT THIS CENTRAL OHIO LIBRARY COLLABORATION
This library collaboration allows libraries to host large, impactful events in Central Ohio collectively by sharing costs, resources, and expertise. These libraries are also part of the Central Library Consortium (CLC) serving member libraries in seven counties.
In addition to resource sharing and encouraging partnership on various community-wide initiatives, these collective events enhance and further engage a community of readers and raise the visibility of libraries throughout Central Ohio.
